Cashier at Japanese take-out restaurant in Pasadena city

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Cashier to join our Japanese take-out restaurant located in Pasadena city .

12am to 3pm, Monday to Thursday, 5pm to 8pm, Friday and other days.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, efficiently handle transactions, and create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining high guest satisfaction. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. The position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders in person or over the phone
• Operate POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms to process transactions accurately
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and issue receipts with attention to detail
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station and dining area
• Answer customer inquiries regarding menu items, specials, and restaurant policies
• Manage phone orders efficiently while providing excellent guest relations
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Uphold restaurant standards for hospitality, guest services, and overall guest experience

Skills

• Previous host/hostess or food service experience is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage positively with guests
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS preferred
• Knowledge of hospitality and guest relations best practices
• Good phone etiquette and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed
