Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a friendly, professional manner.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer understanding and encourage sales.
• Upsell related products or services to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a helpful approach.
• Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and displays are attractive through merchandising and stocking tasks.
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking inquiries.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and supporting stocking activities as needed.
• Support team members through supervising experience by guiding new staff or helping coordinate daily tasks.
• Engage customers with clear communication skills, including bilingual support if applicable, to serve diverse clientele effectively.
• Promote store promotions and product demos to boost sales and enhance customer engagement.
• Ensure compliance with store policies on cash handling, security procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and balancing registers at shift end.
• Knowledge of POS systems is highly desirable; familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on friendly customer interactions; bilingual abilities are a bonus.
• Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience in grocery stores or retail sales is advantageous for understanding product placement and merchandising strategies.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and lift moderate loads as needed during stocking or inventory tasks.
• Attention to detail in cash handling, sales processing, and maintaining clean checkout areas.
• Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills; supervisory experience is beneficial for supporting team operations. Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
