Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a friendly, professional manner
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process cash, credit, and mobile payments
• Handle cash handling duties with precision, ensuring correct change and transaction records
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring products are well-stocked and displays are appealing
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to promote new or featured items
• Upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, merchandising products attractively, and monitoring stock levels for replenishment
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, and promotions
• Follow phone etiquette standards when taking orders or assisting customers over the phone
• Assist in supervising team members when needed, supporting a collaborative work environment

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
• Previous supervising experience is a plus for leadership responsibilities
• Ability to communicate effectively in both bilingual settings and with diverse customers
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on positive interactions and problem resolution
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and inventory management
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products confidently to boost sales performance
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail calculations
• Experience in retail sales environments with an emphasis on grocery stores or convenience stores is preferred
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and assist customers efficiently
