Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product selections or demonstrations to boost sales and customer satisfaction
• Manage cash handling responsibilities, including counting cash, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and merchandise products to maintain an attractive store layout that encourages upselling opportunities
• Assist with inventory management by stocking new items, conducting product demos, and ensuring products are properly labeled and accessible
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support store supervision by supervising new team members or assisting with training when needed

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience or familiarity with POS systems is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
• Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities are highly valued for effective customer interactions
• Demonstrated ability in retail sales, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies to maximize revenue opportunities
• Basic math skills for cash handling, balancing registers, and performing retail math calculations accurately
• Experience working in grocery stores or similar retail environments is a plus but not required
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience in busy settings
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings
