Cashier/Barista

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/Counter Person to join our team in creating an exceptional coffeeshop experience for our customers. As a Barista/Counter Person, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and providing outstanding customer service. You will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and customer loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the espresso machine and other café equipment efficiently while ensuring quality control.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Handle cash transactions using the POS system, ensuring accurate cash handling and register operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
• Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting low inventory levels to management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Stay updated on menu offerings and promotions to effectively communicate with customers.

Skills

• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous food service experience is preferred; familiarity with coffee preparation is a plus.
• Proficient in cash handling procedures and basic retail math skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Experience with POS systems; knowledge of Toast POS is advantageous but not required.
• A genuine passion for coffee and café culture, along with a willingness to learn about different brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
