Cashier/Customer Service

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring smooth operations at the checkout. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a passion for helping others in a retail environment, particularly within a liquor store setting.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries effectively.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for processing transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
• Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising products to ensure an appealing shopping experience.
• Engage in upselling and product demonstrations to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and throughout the store.
• Supervise junior staff when required, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
• Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accurate cash handling throughout shifts.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
• Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse clientele.
• Supervising experience is a plus, as well as familiarity with merchandising and stocking practices.
