Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing them with exceptional service while managing transactions accurately. You will play a key role in enhancing the shopping experience by assisting customers with their inquiries, processing sales, and ensuring a well-organized store environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their purchases and inquiries.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Assist in merchandising products effectively to promote sales and enhance store presentation.
• Perform stocking duties to maintain inventory levels and ensure product availability.
• Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities during customer interactions.
• Conduct product demos when necessary to educate customers on new items or promotions.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while adhering to grocery store standards.
• Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Utilize strong communication skills to address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.

Skills

• Proficient in cashiering and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
• Experience in retail sales, with a strong understanding of retail math concepts.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
• Familiarity with phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques to effectively display products for sale.
• Ability to perform stock management tasks efficiently within a grocery store environment.
