Cashier/Customer Service

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions accurately, and supporting store operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience with retail sales environments, including grocery stores. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus to enhance customer interactions and team support.

Duties

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision and integrity
• Conduct product demos to promote items and increase sales opportunities
• Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance customer satisfaction and store revenue
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and stock rotation
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or customer concerns over the phone
• Support supervising staff with training or overseeing daily operations as needed
• Perform basic retail math calculations for transactions, discounts, or promotions

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and customer interaction abilities
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory purposes
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership roles within the team
• Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos to enhance the shopping experience
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
