Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process transactions, returns, and exchanges with accuracy and speed
• Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to enhance sales
• Assist with merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store looks inviting and well-maintained
• Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cash register balancing and transaction documentation
• Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support grocery store operations by ensuring proper product placement, inventory management, and stock replenishment

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math to handle transactions confidently
• Previous supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities
• Ability to communicate clearly in both English and another language (bilingual skills) to serve diverse customer needs
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and patience in busy environments
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
• Effective upselling techniques to promote additional products or services that meet customer needs
• Excellent phone etiquette coupled with strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone
