Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions efficiently and securely
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demos to enhance their shopping experience
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
• Upsell products and suggest additional items to increase sales and meet store goals
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly, maintaining phone etiquette, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, product rotation, and basic retail math for pricing and stock levels

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery store environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for team support roles
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions, pricing, and stock management
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions
• Willingness to learn about product demos, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
