Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries with professionalism
- Manage cash handling procedures, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and participating in stock counts
- Use effective phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Promote retail sales by engaging customers in conversations about products and services
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers, including bilingual abilities a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience in grocery store environments or retail settings is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Supervising experience is a bonus, especially for those interested in growth opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of merchandising, stock management, and customer service best practices
