Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product demos and inquiries
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
• Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to enhance product visibility and appeal
• Upsell products by recommending complementary items and informing customers about current promotions
• Stock shelves, manage inventory levels, and assist with merchandise replenishment to keep the store neat and inviting
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels
• Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features and benefits to encourage sales
• Assist with basic grocery store operations such as stocking perishable goods or managing checkout lanes during busy periods

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operation in a retail or grocery environment
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or task management
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases effectively
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain products and handle customer concerns
• Strong retail math skills for accurate cash handling, making change, and balancing registers at shift end
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately in fast-paced situations
• Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial but not required
• Demonstrated sales skills with a focus on upselling and promoting products confidently
