Cashier/Customer Service/Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers, handle transactions accurately, and assist with store operations. This role is vital in creating a positive shopping experience and ensuring smooth daily store functions. Experience in retail sales, POS systems, and customer service is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries or product needs
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
• Maintain an organized checkout area and ensure proper stock levels at registers
• Upsell products and promote store promotions or special offers to enhance sales
• Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and increase sales
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues efficiently
• Support supervising staff during peak hours or busy periods as needed
• Follow phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers over the phone

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
• Ability to perform basic math for transactions and retail math calculations
• Experience in retail sales, upselling, and merchandising techniques
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Supervising experience is desirable for leadership roles within the team
• Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial but not required
• Ability to demonstrate products effectively and engage customers during product demos
• Professional appearance with good phone etiquette for customer interactions
