Cashier/Receptionist

Job Overview
We are a local new car dealership seeking an energetic and friendly Cashier/Receptionist to join our team! This vital role combines the responsibilities of managing customer transactions at the point of sale with providing exceptional front-desk service. You will be the first point of contact for customers and visitors, creating a welcoming environment while ensuring smooth operations. Your enthusiasm, communication skills, and attention to detail will help foster a positive shopping experience and support our daily business functions.

Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately
• Greet customers and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity to ensure the daily drawer is balanced
• Maintain a safe and clean customer waiting area
• Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally, directing inquiries appropriately, and taking messages when necessary
• Light filing, dealer trade transaction paperwork prep, input new vehicle inventory

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills to interact clearly with customers, team members, and management
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations
• Excellent phone etiquette to provide professional assistance over the phone
• Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and problem-solving skills in a grocery store or retail setting
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn Dealer Management Software (DMS) quickly

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• front desk: 1 year (Required)
• using a multi-line switchboard: 1 year (Preferred)
• car dealership: 1 year (Preferred)
