Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions accurately, and promoting products through upselling and product demos. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail sales skills in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including merchandising, stocking, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere. Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
• Conduct product demos to promote features and benefits of items
• Upsell products to increase sales and enhance customer experience
• Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring shelves are stocked
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy
• Manage stock levels by stocking shelves and organizing inventory
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
• Assist in supervising team members when applicable, ensuring smooth store operations
• Support the store’s overall appearance by maintaining cleanliness and organization

Qualifications

• Prior experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage customers effectively
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations
• Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse clientele
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team
