Cashier/Sales Associate

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and assisting customers with their shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail or grocery store environments. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, helping to enhance team performance and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service
• Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling responsibilities with accuracy
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
• Conduct product demos to promote new or featured items
• Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
• Support in supervising team members when needed, including training new staff
• Use phone etiquette to assist customers over the phone and answer inquiries professionally
• Implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and sales

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments preferred
• Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse customers
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a broader customer base
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is a plus
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations and cash handling accuracy
• Knowledge of upselling techniques and product merchandising strategies
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced retail environment
