Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and assisting customers with their shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and a positive attitude to ensure a welcoming environment for all shoppers. Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery stores is preferred, along with bilingual abilities being a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly
• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or recommendations
• Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods with precision and security
• Maintain knowledge of store products to perform product demos and upselling effectively
• Restock shelves, merchandise displays, and organize products to ensure attractive presentation
• Conduct stock checks and assist with inventory management tasks
• Ensure excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors
• Assist in merchandising efforts to promote sales and enhance store appearance
• Support supervising staff in managing daily operations when needed
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual capabilities (preferred)
• Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product demos to boost sales
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer trust
• Good phone etiquette for professional communication with customers and vendors
• Supervising experience is a plus for leadership responsibilities
• Basic math skills necessary for balancing registers and handling transactions efficiently
