Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with precision.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
• Handle cash, credit, and digital payments securely while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales and improve the customer experience.
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting.
• Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and supporting product replenishment efforts.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors over the phone.
• Support supervising team members during peak hours or busy periods to ensure smooth store operations.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in both bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) environments is a plus.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing registers accurately.
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail sales processes is highly desirable.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks related to stocking and merchandising.
• Excellent phone etiquette skills for professional communication with customers and vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with supervising experience preferred for leadership opportunities.
