Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary We are seeking a vibrant, self-motivated, and reliable Market Sales & Booth Manager to oversee daily operations at our permanent outdoor market location. In this role, you will be the face of our artisanal, homemade candle brand. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory, maintaining an immaculate and inviting booth setup, and providing exceptional customer service. Because this is a permanent outdoor market spot, the ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, open-air environment, loves interacting with the public, and possesses the physical stamina required for outdoor retail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Customer Engagement Drive Sales: Actively engage with market visitors and convert browsers into loyal customers.

Product Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of our candle ingredients (e.g., soy wax, all natural fragrance oils), burn times, and scent profiles to make personalized recommendations.

Brand Ambassadorship:

Enthusiastically represent the brand’s values, craftsmanship, and aesthetic to the local community and tourists.

Booth Operations & Visual Merchandising:

Open & Close Procedures: Efficiently set up displays and secure the booth at the end of the market day according to safety and brand standards.

Visual Merchandising:

Maintain a clean, beautifully styled booth throughout the day to maximize visual appeal and attract foot traffic.

Inventory & Financial Management Point of Sale (POS): Accurately process cash and digital transactions using our POS system. Inventory Tracking: Monitor stock levels, keep track of best-selling scents, etc.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements Experience: 1–2 years of experience in retail, farmers' markets, pop-up shops, or hospitality is highly preferred. Interpersonal Skills: Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable striking up conversations with strangers.

Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods (6–8 hours) and lift up to 40 lbs (boxes of candles, display fixtures).

Resilience: Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, breeze).

Reliability: Punctual and dependable with independent transportation to the market site.

Note on Scheduling: This position requires weekend availability, as Saturdays and Sundays are peak market days.

Pay: $100.00 - $300.00 per day
