Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary
Join our team as a Cashier/Sales Associate, where your enthusiasm and customer-focused mindset will drive memorable shopping experiences in our Russian grocery store. In this role, you will be the friendly face that assists customers with their purchases, manages transactions efficiently, and provides expert product guidance. Must be fluent in Russian and English and eligible to work in USA.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping journey
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
• Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Conduct regular inventory checks and support stock replenishment efforts
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
• Support in-store promotions and product demonstrations to boost sales performance
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and store policies at all times

Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales or cashiering roles, preferably in grocery or similar stores
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if necessary.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership capabilities in a retail environment is a plus
• Ability to perform merchandising, stocking, and inventory management tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of grocery store operations and customer service best practices
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions
• Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a friendly approach
• Basic understanding of retail math for balancing registers and managing cash flow
