Cashier Skills and Responsibilities:

• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Registers sales on a cash register and totaling customers’ purchases.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
• Bags purchases if needed.
• Itemizes and totals purchases and operating a cash register.
• Collects payments by accepting cash or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
• Verifies credit acceptance and operating credit card authorization systems.
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
• Provides pricing information by answering questions.
• Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Restock items as needed.

Cashier Qualifications/ Attributes:

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• 0-1 years of retail experience desired
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet business needs

Work Hours & Benefits

The starting rate for a cashier position is $12.50/hr and increases to $13.00/hr after the three month probationary period. The schedule for Bargain Brothers Bryant is Friday through Wednesday 9:45 am to 7:00 pm, and Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Full-time employees will be eligible for health insurance enrollment after 60 days of employment and eligible for the 401(k) matching program after one year of employment.

Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
