As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Category Lead to grow our product portfolio, onboard new vendors and brands, and drive category performance through effective merchandising, pricing, and digital activation strategies.

Position Overview

The Category Lead will be responsible for developing and managing the furniture and home appliances categories on Setinone.ae, focusing on expanding brand and vendor partnerships, optimizing category performance, and monetizing marketplace assets such as banner placements, product positioning, and rate card sales.

This is a strategic commercial role that combines category management, vendor relations, sales, and marketing activation, ideal for someone with a strong background in UAE e-commerce and furniture retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, negotiate, and onboard new brands and vendors to expand product selection and marketplace variety.
  • Manage and grow the furniture and appliances categories, ensuring competitive pricing, assortment depth, and sales growth.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring smooth onboarding, compliance, and account management.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including rate card selling, vendor commissions, and promotional placements.
  • Sell and manage website banners, homepage exposure, and product positioning opportunities to vendors and brand partners.
  • Analyze category performance metrics (GMV, sell-through rate, margin, conversion, etc.) and optimize based on data insights.
  • Collaborate with marketing, logistics, and operations teams to ensure successful campaign execution and product availability.
  • Work with finance teams on vendor payments, commissions, and rate card billing.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor benchmarks, and new product opportunities.
  • Drive seasonal campaigns and brand partnerships to enhance visibility and revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or category management within the furniture or home appliances sector in the UAE.
  • Proven success in vendor acquisition, brand partnerships, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of digital merchandising, campaign management, and marketplace monetization.
  • Excellent knowledge of UAE e-commerce ecosystem and familiarity with top platforms
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP tools (Odoo preferred), and marketplace dashboards.
  • Based in Dubai with valid UAE experience.
