About Chemical Guys
Chemical Guys is a global lifestyle brand and leader in automotive appearance. From Hollywood studios to garages and driveways around the world, we inspire people to shine inside and out.
We’re more than a car care company — we’re a movement built on innovation, creativity, and community. As a category leader across specialty, online, and mass retail, we continue to redefine how consumers experience auto appearance through data-driven insights and a relentless focus on growth. If you’re energized by analytics, category strategy, and uncovering business opportunities through data, this is your opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Position Overview
The Category Manager plays a key role in driving growth within the Appearance Chemicals, Air Freshener, Auto Accessories, and related categories. This position transforms complex data into actionable insights and strategies that elevate category performance and strengthen retailer partnerships. The role leverages CIRCANA data (formerly NPD/IRI/Nielsen), trade partner proprietary sales data, consumer insights, and internal analytics to identify opportunities, refine assortment strategies, and optimize pricing and promotional execution across National Accounts, Amazon, Direct-to-Consumer, and Omni-Accounts. Serving as both a Category Advisor and a strategic thought partner to key trade partners, this role delivers objective, category-level insights that go beyond the Chemical Guys portfolio — positioning the company as a trusted leader and data-driven collaborator in the auto appearance space. This role will require light U.S. domestic travel (up to approximately 10 trips per year, typically one to two nights each) to meet with trade partners and support in-person collaboration as part of Category Advisor responsibilities.

- Work directly with key retail partners (e.g., Walmart, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, O’Reilly, Amazon) to act as a Category Advisor, supporting shared goals and driving overall category growth.
- Create and present compelling category stories that highlight shopper trends, performance opportunities, and total-category growth drivers.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development to align consumer insights with brand and category strategies.
- Strengthen retailer relationships through credible, data-backed category leadership and proactive communication.
Omni-Channel & Digital Category Management
- Evaluate performance across in-store and online channels to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
- Partner with eCommerce and DTC teams to analyze digital performance, shopper behavior, and cross-channel opportunities.
- Leverage omni-channel data to deliver a unified view of category and consumer performance.
- Support consistent execution of category strategies across retail, digital, and marketplace environments.

- Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance to align category insights with business priorities.
- Lead the preparation of category reviews, scorecards, and performance reports for internal leadership and external customers.
- Advocate for data-informed decision-making and foster a culture of category thinking across teams.
