Category Manager - B2B Gifting

About Ugaoo
Ugaoo is redefining how India connects with nature. As one of the fastest-growing consumer brands in the gardening and sustainable lifestyle space, we’re not just selling plants—we’re curating experiences that inspire connection, balance, and well-being. With a rapidly expanding product ecosystem, strong digital presence, and a community-first mindset, we’re building the country’s most trusted platform for modern urban green living.
Our corporate gifting vertical is one of the fastest-scaling business lines at Ugaoo. What started as a thoughtful extension of our mission has evolved into a national proposition: premium, gifting backed by design finesse, personalization, logistics excellence, and a seamless end-to-end experience. From employee onboarding kits and festive gifting to CSR-aligned sustainability programs, we partner with organizations to help them gift with intention—not obligation.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and creatively driven Category Manager to build and scale our B2B gifting and hamper portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of creativity and execution — combining product curation, vendor sourcing, customization, and fulfilment coordination.
The role holder will be responsible for creating thoughtful, premium, and eco-conscious hamper experiences for corporate clients, while ensuring commercial viability, quality consistency, and timely execution.
Responsibilities
Hamper Curation & Concept Development
    • Conceptualize and curate themed hampers across corporate, festive, seasonal, and occasion-based requirements.
    • Build hamper concepts aligned with green and sustainability-led gifting themes.
    • Select and combine products to ensure aesthetic consistency and premium presentation.
    • Curate mixes across plants, lifestyle accessories, artisanal food items, and eco-friendly merchandise.
    • Create master samples and mock setups for client approvals and internal reviews.
    • Continuously refresh hamper concepts based on trends and client needs.
Product Sourcing & Vendor Management
    • Identify and onboard vendors across lifestyle products, artisanal foods, packaging materials, and eco-friendly merchandise.
    • Evaluate vendors on quality, reliability, scalability, and sustainability standards.
    • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and commercial terms for bulk orders.
    • Build alternate vendor options to ensure supply continuity.
    • Maintain a structured vendor database and performance tracker.
Quality & Product Compliance
    • Define quality benchmarks for sourced hamper components.
    • Conduct sample checks and batch validations before final procurement.
    • Ensure all sourced products meet brand and packaging standards.
    • Coordinate replacements and corrective actions for quality issues.
Customization & Branding Coordination
    • Manage personalization requirements such as logo engraving, printed inserts, message cards, and branded accessories.
    • Coordinate with design and internal stakeholders for brand-aligned outputs.
    • Ensure customization requests are executed accurately and within timelines.
    • Standardize repeat customization processes for scale orders.
Packaging & Material Innovation
    • Source recyclable and low-waste packaging options.
    • Improve packaging formats for both safety and visual appeal.
    • Test packaging durability for transit and storage.
Order Execution & Fulfilment Support
    • Work closely with operations and warehouse teams for hamper assembly planning.
    • Translate order volumes into sourcing and material plans.
    • Track timelines for bulk orders and milestone deliveries.
    • Support dispatch readiness and delivery coordination.
Experience
    • 2–4 years of experience in product sourcing, lifestyle product merchandising, gifting, boutique retail, or category buying.
    • Exposure to curated gifting or hamper businesses is preferred.
Skills
    • Strong aesthetic sense and product pairing ability.
    • Vendor sourcing and negotiation capability.
    • Good commercial understanding of costing and margins.
    • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and costing.
    • Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
