About the Job:
Summit Behavioral Health is one of the fastest growing companies in the behavioral health space. Our procurement team is growing, and we are looking to hire an enthusiastic category manager to complement our team.Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and facility staff to ensure effective, results-oriented outcomes and implementation of supply chain management best practices.
Develops annual procurement plan based on key initiatives and goals of enterprise leadership. The plan will be based on project timelines, equipment lead-times, shortages, and key GO LIVE dates.
Utilizes existing contracts to understand key renewals, pricing escalators, and exit strategies of existing vendors.
Consolidates pricing and contracts through new sourcing strategy.
Manage renewal periods that may include RFx, Letters of Intent, New SOW, or SLA for ongoing vendor negotiation.
Develops negotiation strategy to drive the best value for the organization through lower cost, improved quality, increased service levels, or other value strategies.
Identifies cost savings opportunities through supplier consolidation, supplier conversion, or service enhancement.
Champions process improvement initiatives across Summit’s portfolio of businesses.
Tracks and manages existing vendor contract expiration dates to ensure ongoing contracts meet current compliance standards.
Develops and supports the overall vision, strategy, and execution plan for the CAPEX Sourcing function.
Designs and directs continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and templates including participating in and leading certain aspects of enterprise procure-to-pay technology implementations.
Mentors’ facilities on corporate procurement buying process.
Comfortable working with large amounts of data.
Conducts meetings with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve processes and reporting tools.
Manages budget of Procurement team and supports key leaders with budget reviews as necessary.
Assists the Growth & Development team on De Novos and start-up supply chain and vendor needs.
Assists the Outpatient Services team on standardization of clinic openings, including FF&E and other equipment.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree required.
Minimum of three years of experience managing various RFx processes and negotiating product and service agreements required. Accounting experience for supply chain operations, complex contracts, revenue recognition, and facility operations preferred.
Previous healthcare and/or GPO experience preferred.
In depth knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements.
Knowledge of healthcare purchased services category.
Demonstrated critical thinking ability and experience in understanding or interpreting standard business terms, identification of risk, and development of negotiating/risk mitigation strategies for client and supplier contracts.
Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
