Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced
Category Specialist
to support the Procurement Manager in sourcing and purchasing goods, spares, equipment, repairs, and services required for power and water operations. The role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Execute procurement activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.

Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best price, quality, and delivery terms.

Manage customs clearance, logistics coordination, and timely delivery of materials.

Evaluate and develop suppliers and monitor contractor performance.

Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.

Utilize ERP systems (Maximo / SAP) for purchasing and inventory management.

Support audits, internal controls, and ISO-related requirements.
Qualifications & Experience

Engineering Degree with
10 years’ experience
, or University Degree with
8 years’ experience
in the Power & Water industry.

Minimum
10 years of procurement experience
, including at least
5 years in the power sector or similar industry
.

Experience in the GCC is preferred.
-
CIPS qualification is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management, and supplier negotiation.
