Catering Barista / Account Manager

About Us:
Green Kettle Coffee is a specialty coffee shop and mobile espresso cart based in Central Connecticut, bringing a full cafe experience to weddings, private events, and corporate gatherings. We’re known for high-quality coffee, thoughtful details, and creating a welcoming, elevated experience wherever we go.

We’re a small, growing business that values professionalism and personality. Our events are fun, fast-paced, and people-centered—and we take pride in showing up prepared, polished, and calm, even in busy environments. Every event is different, and the right person has real autonomy and responsibility.

If you enjoy hospitality, like being trusted to run things independently, and want a role that blends coffee and events, Green Kettle Coffee is a great fit.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a reliable, professional team member who can manage both the coffee service and client relationships. This role blends barista work with light account management — ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish while representing our brand with professionalism and warmth. In addition, this person will be responsible for overseeing the company van to ensure it remains in safe, working condition.

Responsibilities:

Event Operations

  • Drive the van to and from events (valid license required).
  • Safely load/unload and set up the espresso cart and equipment.
  • Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks with speed, accuracy, and hospitality.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for clients — confirming details, answering questions, and ensuring a smooth experience.
  • Break down and clean the cart/equipment after events.

Client & Account Management

  • Confirm event details with clients in advance (arrival time, setup, add-ons, special requests).
  • Follow up with clients as needed after events (feedback, receipts, next steps).
  • Maintain records of events, including timing, setup, and any special notes.
  • Create custom menus, custom sleeves, and custom cart designs using Canva.

Van Management

  • Schedule and coordinate regular van maintenance (oil changes, inspections, car washes, etc.).
  • Monitor vehicle condition and arrange repairs as needed.
  • Ensure registration, insurance, and inspection are up to date.
  • Keep van clean, stocked, and organized for events.

Other Duties

  • Assist with inventory tracking and reporting supply needs.
  • Capture event photos/videos for social media.

Requirements:

  • Prior barista experience required.
  • Experience in client-facing roles (hospitality, events, or account management).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable driving a van and handling equipment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.
  • Flexible schedule — evenings, weekends, and variable hours depending on event bookings.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 80 lbs).
  • Basic familiarity with vehicle maintenance scheduling (or willingness to learn).

Compensation:

  • Hourly/event-based pay, starting at $17.00/hr + tips.
  • Hours vary based on event schedule (heavier during spring and fall, lighter in winter and summer).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Paid training

Work Location: In person
