Catering Coordinator Assistant

Sheehan Brothers Vending Service is looking for a full-time Catering Coordinator Assistant. This position will be responsible to perform a variety of food preparation duties. Including fresh food for catering, vending, micro markets and baking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare baked goods for catering orders.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Sales Orders to complete the schedule accurately
  • Wear required safety protection.
  • Help maintain inventory par levels.
  • Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware.
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Portion and wrap food daily.
  • Inform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly.
  • Wash, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Read recipe cards to determine amount and kind of foods and supplies to be packaged.
  • Organize and assemble catering orders via sales orders and verbal instruction
  • Hands-on preparation of all catering trays, boxed lunches, samples, sales call orders and coffee.
  • Perform quality and accuracy check on all outgoing catering orders.
  • Work on the production floor when not needed in the catering department
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience and requirements:

  • Previous baking experience preferred Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
  • Continuous standing, lifting and bending
  • Good attendance (Sheehan Brothers Vending operates on a point system)
  • Must be able to frequently lift 50+ pounds
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is to remain in a standing position for 100 percent of the time while working in the Commissary. The individual needs to frequently move about in the Commissary. They use their hands continuously while performing all job duties. Most of the activities involve fine and gross manipulation of items. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other individuals in the office and Commissary. They must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds. Uses knives and sharp items on a daily basis. Operates a variety of cooking equipment. Required to wear hairnets, gloves, and smocks.
  • Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to freezing conditions, sharp objects, and hot surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees are required to wear gloves, aprons, and hair nets while working in the Commissary.

Vision insurance

Compensation and Schedule:

$15.00 per hour with an additional step-up process at 90 days and 6 months.

Monday thru Friday from 6am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime as needed. (Must be able to work independently on Friday as this position is responsible for the catering department)
