CATERING COORDINATOR
Schedule: Part-Time | 24 Hours
Position Summary
For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Catering Coordinator is responsible for performing activities related to the food venues.
Job Specific Duties

- Performs set-up and breakdown service for events in a timely manner, ensuring rugs, floors, tables and linens are clean
- Consults with Restaurant Manager and Catering Manager on staffing needs for functions
- Assists with customer billing, transactions, and the basic needs of event coordination
- Transports materials to and from event locations
- Provides excellent customer service and communication with Residents and guests
- Addresses customer concerns promptly and courteous
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dining ware, linens, serving ware and work areas
- Restocks and returns all equipment to appropriate storage areas
- Provides solutions to problems concerning any issues a Resident may have
- Answers guests’ questions and handles complaints related to catering services expeditiously
- Works in dining venues when staffing levels are low
- Provides caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all times
- Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor
- Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
- Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of food service experience in a health care setting preferred
- Serve Safe Certified
Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Pay Range: $20-$24/hour
