Job Summary:

The Catering Bartender is the life of the party. As the bartender at our events, you maintain a positive, upbeat and professional attitude while ensuring drinks are always full, the bar is always clean and well-stocked, and guests are happy while not being overserved. You uphold our core values by providing top-quality service to guests, working collaboratively with the team and communicating with the Operations Managers to ensure a smooth event and a pleasant experience for all guests. While some cash handling may be required, every event is unique and may have different needs, so communication with the operations manager is key.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff in a friendly and professional manner.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
• Ensures that fruit/garnishes, straws, napkins, etc. are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
• Maintains the bar and keeps it clean, organized, and visually appealing through the duration of the event.
• Ability to handle setup and breakdown of bars in various locations within a limited time designated by the venue or client.
• Ability to follow an event order with accuracy based on clients requests, including cash bar, drink tickets, and wristbands among other options.
• Adheres to state law by checking IDs, refusing service when necessary, and using communication with other team members and management if certain guests can no longer be served.
• Collects payment and tender from customers for drinks prepared and served when necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
• Ability to remain calm when dealing with potentially unruly and argumentative patrons.
• Cash handling skill required.
• Excellent attention to detail and passion for high-quality service and beverage.
• Ability to learn POS software used for cash management.
• Reliable Transportation to and from offsite events.

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete any state required Alcohol Awareness Food Handler Training.
• At least one year of related experience is preferred.
• Must successfully complete and attend catering training when requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of drinks, gallon batch cocktails, coolers, ice, and other equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Transportation to multiple locations within the Milwaukee County area required.
