Job Description

Position Overview:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through proactive solicitation and management of catering sales, including meetings, banquets, and social events. This individual plays a critical role in generating new business, fostering client relationships, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure exceptional event execution. The ideal candidate is a dynamic sales professional with strong hospitality acumen and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

What You Will Accomplish
  • Proactively solicit new group and social business for meetings, banquets, and special events through outbound sales efforts and by responding to incoming leads.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections and client meetings to promote the hotel’s event spaces, services, and amenities, while identifying client needs and securing business.
  • Develop and present customized proposals, negotiate rates and contract terms, and secure client commitments in alignment with property standards and revenue goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for group clients, managing all planning and servicing aspects from contract signature through event execution.
  • Coordinate all event details with internal departments—including Banquets, Culinary, AV, and Rooms—to ensure service delivery matches the commitments made to the client.
  • Oversee Banquet Food & Beverage, AV, Meeting Room Rental, and ancillary services, ensuring timely communication and execution.
  • Act as the on-site contact during events, providing direct support to meeting planners and ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, contracts, and event logistics within the hotel’s sales and catering system (e.g., Delphi, Opera S&C, or equivalent).
  • Partner closely with the Banquet and Culinary teams to ensure all aspects of event execution meet or exceed expectations.
  • Meet or exceed individual and departmental sales and revenue goals.
  • Represent the hotel at industry networking events, trade shows, and client entertainment opportunities to enhance visibility and generate new business.
  • Stay current on local market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to proactively identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of catering sales or event planning experience in a hotel or events-focused hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of local market and event trends is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
  • Proficiency in catering sales software (Delphi, Opera, Envision or similar CRM systems).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
