Catering Staff/Server

Job Overview
Bramble Ridge Catering is a company located in Boone, IA, that caters the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad dinner train experience. Servers take care of drink orders at the beginning of the train ride along with serving salad, entrée, and dessert courses while on a moving train. Guests have pre-ordered their meals. The train ride lasts approximately two hours, making this an extremely fast-paced environment. The ability to work professionally and quickly while maintaining a calm demeanor is crucial. Must be at least 16 years old. This is a seasonal job from February to November with trains operating every Friday and Saturday and some weekdays.

Duties

• Greet guests promptly, providing drink menus and knowledge about the train and what services they should expect.
• Be able to efficiently work in a fast-paced environment while building relationships with customers and maintaining professionalism.
• Take accurate beverage orders quickly.
• Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area throughout service.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns with a knowledgable attitude, enhancing overall guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.
• Maintain basic knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Be a self-motived problem-solver.
• Follow the dress code.

Experience

• Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required.
• Must enjoy working with people.
• Familiarity with kitchen operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with guests, coworkers, and kitchen staff.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willing to train.
