As a key member of the cardiac catheterization laboratory, you will utilize your expertise in radiologic imaging to support interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and emergency procedures within a Level I Trauma Center setting. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain fluoroscopy and X-ray equipment to produce clear, precise images during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Assist cardiologists and interventional radiologists by positioning patients and equipment for optimal imaging angles.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, ensuring safety and stability.
- Apply aseptic techniques diligently to maintain sterile fields during invasive procedures.
- Recognize and respond promptly to emergency situations, including trauma cases at a Level I Trauma Center, providing critical imaging support.
- Document procedural details accurately, including radiation exposure levels, patient information, and technical parameters.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure diagnostic evaluation accuracy, utilizing anatomy knowledge and sonography skills when applicable.
Skills
- Strong understanding of interventional radiology techniques and cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and physiology knowledge for patient assessment during procedures.
- Expertise in medical terminology relevant to cardiology, radiology, and emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to cardiovascular systems, vascular structures, and trauma response protocols.
- Skilled in sonography for diagnostic evaluation when required in complex cases.
- Experience working within cath labs or similar high-acuity environments such as Level II trauma centers or emergency departments.
