Scope:
The Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in furthering the mission of Calvary Christian Academy; he/she fosters Christian spiritual growth in students and will directly impact Calvary Christian Academy in achieving its mission to “make disciples” for Christ. The Human Resource Manager will lead routine functions of the CCA HR department, including the hiring and applicant review process, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices under the direction of the HR Director. The person is ordained, commissioned, or licensed as a Minister of the Gospel in accordance with the requirements for licensure in Calvary Chapel’s Ecclesiastical Practices Manual, and as a Minister this role plays an important part in furthering the mission of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Manages HR Assistant by providing direction, support, and guidance.
- Provides direction, support, and guidance to management and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Administers and executes routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and making terminations, as needed.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental administration to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees administrative functions of employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy related to talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains as needed.
- Manages international hires when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Model Christ in word and deed.
- Read Calvary Christian Academy email/staff communications and respond if requested.
- Attend Calvary Christian Academy and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale staff meetings.
- Attend/participate in school events scheduled by administration.
- Participate in professional development to stay current in your field.
- Participate in scheduled meetings.
- Fulfill assigned duties as needed and directed.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
