Position Summary
The CCTV & Access Control Technician will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of CCTV systems, access control systems, and related low-current/security solutions at client sites. The role requires solid technical skills in electronics or IT networking, hands-on field experience, and the ability to work independently at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Configuration
- Install and configure CCTV systems (IP/analog cameras, NVR/DVR, storage, monitors).
- Install and configure access control systems (door controllers, card/fingerprint readers, magnetic locks, exit buttons, etc.).
- Perform cabling work (UTP, coaxial, power cables, trunking, conduits, patch panels).
- Mount cameras, readers, and devices as per drawings and site conditions.
- Configure basic network settings (IP addresses, subnet, gateways) for cameras and devices.
2. Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve faults in CCTV and access control systems (no video, recording issues, door not opening/locking, reader issues, etc.).
- Perform preventive maintenance visits as per schedule (cleaning cameras, checking recording, checking power, tightening connections).
- Replace faulty components (power supplies, HDDs, cameras, readers, locks, etc.).
- Provide onsite support during system breakdowns and urgent calls.
3. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Test all installed devices and verify system functionality as per project scope.
- Support senior engineers in system commissioning and final configuration.
- Assist in user training (basic operation of CCTV / access control for client staff).
- Prepare basic handover documents (device list, IP list, site reports, service reports).
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of work done at each site (installation reports, service reports, material usage).
- Update checklists after installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Report site issues, material shortages, and technical challenges to the project/supervisor.
5. Coordination & Safety
- Coordinate with the project engineer / team leader for daily tasks and site priorities.
- Work closely with other technicians and contractors on multi-discipline sites.
- Follow HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines – use PPE, ladders, tools safely.
- Ensure tools and materials are handled properly and kept secure.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / IT / Networking or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a CCTV / Low-Current / Access Control Technician.
- Experience in installation and troubleshooting of IP cameras, NVR/DVR, access control systems.
- GCC experience preferred (Oman / UAE / Qatar / KSA, etc.).
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of CCTV systems (IP & analog), NVR/DVR, basic VMS concepts.
- Knowledge of access control systems – controllers, readers, magnetic locks, door contacts, push buttons.
- Basic networking skills – IP addressing, DHCP, switches, crimping RJ45, basic LAN troubleshooting.
- Ability to read basic drawings (layouts, device locations, wiring diagrams).
- Hands-on experience with power supplies, SMPS, backup power, low-voltage wiring.
- Familiarity with using laptop/mobile apps for device configuration.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Ability to work independently at site with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic/Hindi/Malayalam is an added advantage).
- Physically fit to work at heights (ladders, scaffolding) and outdoor environments when required.
- Valid GCC / Oman Driving License is an added advantage.
- Positive attitude, team player, and willing to work extra hours when required (project deadlines, emergencies).

Travel: May require travel to customer sites within Muscat and other regions in Oman
Salary: As per company policy / to be discussed during interview
