Job Summary
The CCU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients, ensuring continuous monitoring, timely intervention, and adherence to clinical protocols to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients admitted in the CCU.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and neurological status.
- Operate and manage cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other CCU equipment.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as per physician orders.
- Assist doctors during cardiac emergencies, procedures, and resuscitation (CPR/ACLS).
- Identify early signs of patient deterioration and report promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
- Ensure infection control practices and patient safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac patients.
- Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment, medication, and post-discharge care.
- Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and other healthcare staff for optimal patient care.
- Participate in shift handovers and clinical audits.
Qualifications & Experience
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing (mandatory)
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in CCU / ICU / Cardiac ICU
- ACLS / BLS certification preferred
