Job Summary:
The CCU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the Coronary Care Unit. The nurse monitors patient conditions closely, assists in cardiac procedures, administers medications, and ensures patient safety and comfort at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous nursing care to patients admitted in the CCU
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status
- Operate and manage cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, infusion pumps, etc.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections as prescribed
- Assist doctors during cardiac emergencies, procedures, and resuscitation (CPR)
- Identify early signs of patient deterioration and report promptly
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records
- Follow infection control, safety, and hospital protocols strictly
- Educate patients and attendants about care, medications, and post-procedure instructions
- Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare staff for effective patient care
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes
Qualifications & Experience:
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in CCU / ICU / Critical Care (freshers with ICU training may apply)
- ACLS / BLS certification preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of cardiac care and critical care nursing
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and emergencies
