CDL-A Lineman / Utility Crew Driver

CDL-A Utility Lineman

Underground Contractors, Inc. (UCI) is seeking a CDL-A Utility Lineman to join our team in Wixom, MI. This position supports utility construction crews by operating commercial trucks, transporting equipment and materials, and assisting with aerial line work and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL-A trucks and trailers to transport equipment and materials to job sites
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations
• Assist crews with aerial utility line construction and maintenance
• Support installation and maintenance of fiber, electrical, and communication lines
• Work around bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and utility construction equipment
• Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials
• Maintain safe work zones and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Assist Foreman and crew members with daily field operations

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A License with Air Brake Endorsement (No Restrictions) – Required
• Valid DOT Medical Certification
• Ability to safely operate large trucks and trailers
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with utility crews or linemen
• Experience operating bucket trucks or aerial equipment
• Vacuum truck experience is a plus
