Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
• Deliver freight to various customer locations promptly while maintaining professional customer interactions
• Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal delivery schedules and adjusting as necessary for traffic or other delays
• Maintain accurate logs/E-LOGS of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with federal regulations

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL-A license; familiarity with manual transmissions is essential
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, containers, or other specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks
• Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload processes and proper securing techniques
• Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on route driving efficiency and safety awareness
• Familiarity with forklift operation for loading/unloading cargo when necessary
• Prior delivery driver experience preferred; strong organizational skills for managing schedules and routes

Pay scale: $2,500- $4,500 Weekly

Pay Example:

1. $2,500 weekly. Driver receives, $1,000 for the week. Driver receives 40% of the gross pay. Due to owner expenses.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 15 months of verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience within the 3 last years or 24 months of tractor/trailer driving experience within the last 4 years.

TWIC card preferred in port city locations.

Must possess a Class A CDL.

No felony convictions within the last 10 years.

No drug or alcohol related incidents within the last 10 years. No more than one (1) in a lifetime.

No failed drug or alcohol tests or refusal to test.

Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen.

Must pass a medical exam conducted by a Dunavant approved medical provider or provide a current medical card & long form valid for less than 90 days.

Have no DOT Recordable/Preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injury, or towed vehicle in the last 36 months.

No more than two (2) Non-DOT Recordable/Preventable incidents in the last 36 months and no more than one (1) Non-DOT Recordable/Preventable incidents in the last 12 months.

No convictions for a “serious or disqualifying traffic violation” in the last 36 months. A “serious or disqualifying traffic violation” includes any of the following: Excessive speeding, involving any single offense for any speed of 15 M.P.H. or more above the posted speed limit.

Reckless/Careless driving, as defined by state or local law or regulation, including but not limited to the offense of driving a motor vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property.

Improper or erratic lane changes.

Following the vehicle ahead too closely.

Hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, or failure to report an accident.

No violations for a federal, state, or local law or ordinance prohibiting texting while driving a motor vehicle.

No violations for a federal, state, or local law or ordinance restricting or prohibiting the use of a hand-held mobile device while driving a motor vehicle.

No more than three (3) moving violations in the last 36 months and no more than one (1) moving violations in the last 12 months.

No active or pending criminal charges, as well as no felony convictions within the last ten (10) years.

All criminal history must be reviewed by Safety for approval
