WDM USA is hiring experienced CDL-A or CDL-B Drivers with technical, active driving skills to collect high-quality pavement condition data for Departments of Transportation across the United States. This position is ideal for CDL drivers with at least 2 years of on-road tanker truck driving. We are excited to learn more about you and see if you are a strong fit for our team.

Position Available

We are currently hiring CDL Drivers. The position will work closely with a team member (Operator) to conduct surveys, complete daily tasks, and support our core mission. This role requires 100% travel, often across multiple states. Drivers typically work 10-12 hours per day, six (6) days a week, on a 4-5 week in-field shift, followed by 1-week home leave. Schedules are set at least one month in advance. Drivers are paid on an hourly basis with overtime and daily per diems during client work. Career advancement opportunities are available.

CDL Driver Overview

As a CDL Driver, you play a vital role in ensuring the safe and successful execution of daily operations. In this position, you will:

  • Drive long distance while maintaining focus and following assigned routes.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and system calibrations.
  • Accurately track and upload fuel transactions on time.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet project goals and deadlines in both routine and non-routine testing environments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and necessary mechanical repairs on specialized survey equipment and vehicles or facilitate repairs through outside sources when necessary.
  • Support Operators with hands-on troubleshooting, including flat tires and inspections.
  • Observe and follow all WDM safety rules and procedures and other company policies.
  • Keep vehicles and office/operations areas clean and within OSHA requirements.
  • Be detail-oriented and committed to doing a thorough job.
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Commit to full-time travel for the duration of the assignment.
  • Work well in teams and when asked to problem-solve without supervision.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Class A or Class B CDL, with N-Tanker Endorsement
  • 2+ years CDL and tanker experience
  • Up-to-date MVR (NO accidents or tickets in the past 5 years, NO DUI/DWIs)
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse and DOT drug testing compliant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel for up to 6 weeks at a time
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical skills, and adherence to safety regulations
  • Ability to sit and focus for long periods

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding data acquisition procedures or computer acumen
  • Understanding of gas/diesel engine, hydraulic equipment, and/or electrical system repair
  • 3-5 years of related experience, training, or service
