Job Summary

Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across local, regional, or long-haul routes.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Deliver goods to customers’ locations while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
• Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered on the road.
• Assist with special cargo handling such as refrigerated goods or tanker loads when required.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
• Familiarity with different truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
• Delivery driver experience preferred; ability to load & unload freight efficiently.
• Knowledge of route driving best practices and safety regulations enforced by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts when necessary for cargo handling.
