Job Summary

Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across various routes, including local, regional, and long-haul deliveries
• Load and unload freight using forklift or other equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or roll-off trucks
• Drive a variety of trucks such as dump trucks or tractor-trailers with precision and adherence to all safety regulations
• Manage route driving efficiently by planning schedules and following designated delivery routes
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
• Verify shipment documentation, inspect freight for damage or discrepancies, and secure loads properly for transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues promptly

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL A license
• Strong knowledge of truck driving regulations and safety protocols
• Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks confidently
• Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required
• Excellent route planning skills with a focus on timely deliveries
• Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections as needed
