Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and dry vans across assigned routes
• Load and unload freight efficiently using manual or mechanical methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety
• Mostly no-touch work
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards and compliance with regulations
• Deliver freight to various destinations while adhering to route schedules and traffic laws
• Handle specialized equipment including electric pallet jacks when necessary for loading or unloading cargo
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or issues encountered on the road
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in compliance with federal regulations

Requirements

• Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record
• Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred but not required
• Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery and route driving
• Knowledge of load securing techniques and safety procedures for freight handling
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe driving practices
• Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment as needed
