CDL Class A Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Commercial Driver Licence Class A Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent service. Your expertise in handling different types of trailers and loads will be vital in maintaining our reputation for reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
• Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation in compliance with federal regulations
• Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving challenges effectively
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving standards for tractor-trailers
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
• Experience handling various types of trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
• Strong ability to load & unload freight using forklifts or other equipment as needed
• Knowledge of route planning, delivery schedules, and traffic patterns for optimized route driving
• Excellent safety awareness with a commitment to following all transportation regulations and company policies
• Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $0.70 - $0.75 per mile
