Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experianced Class A flatbed truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting fresh cut sod efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and the ability to operate different types of trucks, including flat bed tractor-trailers. A commitment to safety and customer service is essential.

Duties

• Safely operate a variety of trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and tankers.
• Execute route driving to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling of materials.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and deliveries.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
• Familiarity with route planning and navigation systems
• Ability to handle various types of loads safely, including hazardous materials if applicable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
