CDL Class A Local Truck Driver

Overview
Looking for a local CDL Class A truck driver to operate at our office at the Port of Duluth, MN.

Hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Work is all local with no overnights.

Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles such as flatbeds, dry vans and container chassis within local routes.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Execute route driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Deliver freight promptly to designated locations, ensuring accurate documentation and receipt confirmation.
• Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records as required by federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively with management, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during routes.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL Class A license; familiarity with manual transmission preferred.
• Experience operating various types of trucks including flatbeds, dry vans and container chassis is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge traffic laws, safety regulations, and DOT compliance standards.
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and attention to detail during route driving.
• Physical ability to handle the demands of commercial trucking including lifting heavy cargo and performing vehicle inspections.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
