Full Time & Overtime
Employees are paid at an hourly rate plus time and one-half for overtime hours worked.
Schedule
Work weeks can vary from 5-8 hour days to 4-10 hour days for the employee’s regular schedule.

Valley Waste and Ohio Valley Waste - are seeking a heavy truck diesel mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy diesel trucks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess, diagnose, and repair heavy diesel trucks.

  • Also service light service equipment and light trucks.

  • Typical repairs include but are not limited to: hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brake, suspension, electrical, and emission systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance.

  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Adaptable to changing work environments, competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing problems with heavy diesel trucks.

  • Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots.

  • Employees must provide their own tools and locking tool box.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, crouch/crawl, and push/pull required.

  • Ability to lift/carry upwards of 50-75 lbs. for short distances.
