Duties

• Safely operate a Class B commercial truck, including refrigerated trucks.
• Unload freight using equipment like hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
• Execute route driving efficiently, adhering to schedules and traffic laws to deliver goods promptly across designated areas.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and delivery receipts while communicating effectively with dispatch teams.
• Assist with the setup and securing of freight on refrigerated units.
• Follow all safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations to prevent accidents or damage.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver with knowledge of route planning and delivery best practices.
• Valid CDL Class B license with experience operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
• Familiarity with different types of trucks such as refrigerated trucks.
• Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment like forklifts or hand tools.
• Strong understanding of trucking safety regulations and DOT compliance standards.
• Excellent driving skills with experience in straight truck or commercial vehicle operation.
