  • Track shipments and proactively communicate delays or changes to internal teams and external partners

  • Coordinate with ports, warehouses, and third-party partners to ensure smooth load transitions and minimal downtime

  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, driver logs, load details, and compliance documentation

  • Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling conflicts, equipment issues, and unexpected disruptions

  • Support continuous improvement of dispatch processes and fleet efficiency

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in CDL dispatching or a related logistics role

  • Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations, including hours of service requirements

  • Experience with port drayage operations preferred, particularly in high-volume port environments

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage driver relationships effectively

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, informed decisions

  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience dispatching Class A CDL drivers in both OTR and local/drayage operations

  • Familiarity with the Port of Charleston and Wando Welch Terminal operations

  • Experience working with company-owned fleets operating under internal MC/DOT authority

  • Knowledge of freight lanes throughout the Southeast region

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills

Benefits
