Summary
The CDL Driver with Warehouse Experience is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional pickup and delivery of fresh produce between Nogales and Rio Rico. This role plays a key part in supporting daily logistics operations, including local transfers between our facilities or to and from local produce suppliers (within a local, short-haul radius, or within a 150-air-mile radius). When not driving, this role supports warehouse operations by assisting with loading and unloading, inventory rotation, equipment use, and sanitation. This position requires strong work ethic, adaptability, and the ability to coordinate effectively with the operations team.
The ideal candidate is dependable, familiar with local produce warehouses, and able to represent Ciruli Brothers in a professional manner while maintaining strong working relationships with external partners. This position requires the position holder to undergo and pass a motor vehicle history check and maintain a current, valid CDL license in Arizona. The position holder will be unable to perform driving responsibilities until clearance has been given by management to do so.
Key Responsibilities

- Driving & Local Transportation
- Pick up and deliver fresh product within Nogales and Rio Rico.
- Complete local transfers between CB and C&V facilities.
- Maintain knowledge of local produce warehouse locations.
- Ensure safe vehicle operation and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation as required.
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to comply with DOT/FMCSA requirements, including understanding traffic signs, responding to official inquiries, and completing required documentation.
- Warehouse Operations Support
- Assist with loading and unloading product.
- Support inventory rotation and staging.
- Use forklift and pallet jack when required.
- Perform bird-dog duties during loading or quality checks.
- Assist with general warehouse sanitation.
- Support additional warehouse tasks as assigned.
- Professionalism & Relationship Building
- Communicate effectively with the operations team to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with local warehouse contacts.
- Represent Ciruli Brothers with professionalism, etiquette, and reliability.
- Food Safety & Compliance
- Support food safety and security programs by participating in required training.
- Model and abide by food safety SOPs and SSOPs while in production areas.
- Handle product in alignment with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Maintain a current CDL driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
- Maintain a current DOT-registered medical card.
- Minimum of 3 years of CDL driving experience.
- Must pass an MVD motor vehicle history check.
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
- Must meet company insurance eligibility requirements and have preapproval to drive.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks preferred (or willingness to train).
- Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or produce handling environments beneficial.
Skills & Characteristics
- Strong work ethic; dependable and self-motivated.

- Familiarity with produce quality, pack types, and handling is helpful but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
Technology
- Ability to use a phone and/or tablet.
- Basic ability to complete logs or documentation electronically when required.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.

Restrictions:
- CDL driver scheduling / hours requirements: There are federal ELD and HOS requirements that we must abide by if the truck weighs more than 26,000 lbs. (with or without cargo).
- Key Local Driver Regulations (Short-Haul Exception):
- 150 Air-Mile Radius: Drivers operating within 150 air-miles of their normal work reporting location and returning to that location daily are exempt from maintaining traditional logs.
- 14-Hour Rule: Drivers must complete their workday within 14 hours of coming on duty.
- 11-Hour Limit: A maximum of 11 hours can be spent driving within that 14-hour period.
- Rest Break: A 30-minute break is required after 2 hours of driving without a break.
- Off-Duty Requirement: 10 consecutive hours off-duty are required before starting a new 14-hour period.
Insurance general driver guidelines:
- Any driver with any major violations within the previous 13 to 36-month period needs to be reviewed for approval. No more than one major violation during this period is acceptable.
- Any driver with a major violation within the previous 12-month period will most likely be excluded.
- Any driver with three (3) or more minor violations within three (3) years needs to be reviewed for approval.
- Any driver with a DUI during any period will be excluded.
- All motor vehicle operators must be licensed for at least two years.
- Insurer prefers drivers to be over 21 and under 65 but will review for exceptions.
